Join the international team at Alpha School Malta and gain practical experience inside a busy education and training organisation.
Our internships take place at Alpha School itself in St Paul's Bay. They are structured learning placements designed to give you meaningful professional experience, clear learning outcomes and the opportunity to contribute to genuine Alpha projects.

Your internship will be matched, where possible, to your studies, skills and interests.

Internship Areas
Depending on current projects and availability, internships may include:

• Sustainability & Green Operations
  Support environmental projects, sustainability research, awareness campaigns, responsible purchasing, Green school activities and practical sustainability work. 
• Erasmus+ Projects & International Programmes
  Work behind the scene on Alpha's international education and professional-training programmes, supporting participant resources, research, organisation, project evidence and dissemination.
• IT & Digitalisation
  Contribute to digital-development projects involving Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, automation, websites, digital resources and improvements to internal systems and workflows. 
• Student Services & Administration
  Gain practical experience supporting international students, course administration, arrivals, communication, school services and the day-to-day organisation of an international language school.
• Marketing & Communication
  Help develop website content, social media, digital campaigns, visual resources, research and promotional projects for an international audience. 
• Finance, Accounts & Business Administration
  Develop practical business experience through supervised accounts support, records, administration, data management and operational projects.
• Excursions, Activities & Responsible Tourism
  Support the organistaion and promotion of Alpha's cultural, social and educational activities and contribute to responsible tourism and student-experience projects.
• ELT Teaching
  Suitable placements may also be available for trainee teachers completing a recognised teaching or educational programme, subject to academic, safeguarding and supervision requirements. 

More than work experience

An internship at Alpha is a structured professional learning experience.
At the beginning of your placement, we agree suitable learning outcomes and projects with you. You will receive an induction, a named supervisor, regular feedback and opportunities, to reflect on your progress. As your experience develops, you may take greater responsibility for selected projects and produce work that can contribute to your professional portfolio.
Because Alpha is an international workplace, you will also use English every day and develop your communication, teamwork, digital and organisational skills.

Who Can Apply?
Alpha internships are available to participants completing an internship through a recognised university, college, vocational education provider, Erasmus+ programme or other approved sending organisation. Before your internship can be confirmed, you must provide formal documentation confirming your student or trainee status and the purpose of the placement. 

A written internship or learning agreement must also be completed and signed by the relevant parties before the internship begins. This sets out the placement dates, learning objectives, responsibilities, supervision and expected outcomes.

Alpha-hosted internships are unpaid.

A good working level of English is essential, together with reliability, a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Internships normally last at least 8 weeks, with longer placements welcomed where appropriate.   

Practical Information

There is no internship placement fee for internships hosted directly at Alpha School.

Alpha can also help arrange accommodation in Malta. Where Alpha arranges accommodation for an intern, an accommodation placement fee of €75 applies.

For interns who are not EU/EEA nationals, an additional administration fee of €250 applies because of the additional documentation and administrative support required before and during the placement process.

This fee is separate from any  visa, residence permit, government or other third-party charges and does not guarantee the outcome of any immigration application.

Entry, visa, residence and other immigration requirements depend on nationality and individual circumstances and must be satisfied before the internship can begin.
