This course is a wellbeing strategies workshop for teachers and education staff

This 5-day course is an exclusive professional development plan that will aid educational professionals to cope with everyday stresses and recapture initial enthusiasm for the profession. Participants will develop a toolkit which comprises of a range of effective strategies by enhancing focus,  administering emotions, and expanding vitality levels in an aim of gaining greater satisfaction out of your day by implementing extremely basic techniques and practices in personal and professional life.

Day 1 - Meet & marine

Morning introductions over coffee. Register at Alpha School if English at 08:45 and meet your group leader for the week. Bring your beachwear with you as you may wish to use this later in the day. Go to a local café for coffee and pastries to get to know each other better as a group

Meeting marine life and relaxing on the beach. Walk along the promenade from St, Paul’s Bay to Qawra, taking in the sights along the way. Visit Malta National Aquarium in Qawra and take part in a marine-based workshop. Spend the remainder of your day at your leisure, perhaps enjoying the rocky beach and cool waters at Qawra Point. This would be a good afternoon to catch a bus into Valletta.

Day 2 - Crafts & Cuisine

Pottering with pottery. A mini-bus will take you to Ta’Qali crafts village to explore the various artistic products on offer. Take part in a cretaive pottery workshop at Bristow Potteries. The minibus will return you to Buggiba Jetty for a delicious ice-cream treat before you have some down time.

Peaceful rustic dining. In the evening you will be driven to the village of Selmun to enjoy a set-meal at a local Maltese restaurant with beautiful rooftop views {NB. dietary requirements can be catered for}

Day 3  (Summer) - Relax & raft

Yoga with a difference. A minibus will take you to the seaside town of Mellieħa to take part in SUP Yoga. Stand Up Paddle-board Yoga is a unique experience working out your whole body and mind with qualified instructors

A taste for sailing. Thereafter you will undertake a 2-hour dinghy sailing taster session with all instruction and equipment provided. You can then spend the rest of the day on the beach at Mellieħa or go off and explore somewhere else of your choice – you will make your own way back.

Day 3  (Non-summer) - Ride & ramble

Horse riding. After being dropped off by minibus, saddle up and set off on your horse for a picturesque ride through the Maltese countryside. An experienced guide and equipment are all included in the tour.

Rambling. Once dismounted from your trusty steed, the minibus will pick you up and drop you off at the village of Baħrija for a breath-taking 10km walk along the ‘pink’ route. Day 4 - Experience & explore

Gadding around in Gozo. An exciting day awaits you as you set off on the ferry for a full day in Gozo aboard a very cool driver-operated Tuk-Tuk. You will experience 16 designated spots around the island, including a beach stop, so bring your beachwear {weather permitting}. Lunch is also provided. Return to Malta {weather permitting} will be by motorboat passing by the Blue Lagoon in Comino.

Day 5 - Capital & Cupper

The Capital City. Head leisurely to Valletta on your last day to view the magnificent Grand Harbour from the beautiful Upper Barrakka Gardens, ready to watch the midday gun at 12 noon. Thereafter spend some down time in the capital, perhaps taking in the impressive Co-Cathedral with its Caravaggio artwork or heading to St George’s Square to see the soldiers on guard. Finally, you will meet at the sumptuous Phoenicia Hotel in Floriana, outside the city gate, for a classic afternoon tea experience in their beautiful Palm Court Lounge.
